Gaganjeet on course to finish among the lasts. Right now Indian golf is not in good shape. Lets see how long our golfers can hold on to their respective tour cards.

61 Bhullar - 68 75 78 5

Saniapower - The tournament is over. It was a 3 round event due to bad weather.

SSP missed the cut last week by single stroke at Iberdrola Open Cala Millor Mallorca.

SSP, along with Jyoti and Shiv Kapur will be playing this week in BMW PGA CHAMPIONSHIP. Good luck to all three.

2010 is fast turning out to be lousy year for Indian golf. I hope our golfers turn things around over the second half of the year.

BMW PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

Postby ajay » Thu May 20, 2010 4:27 pm

Good start by SSP as he finished 1st round at 4 under - the 3rd best score so far (can change as few players are still on field.) Leader is at -6.

Shiv Kapur with 8 over is set to miss the cut tomorrow unless he performs a miracle.
Jyoti is +2 at halfway in the 1st round. I hope he make amend in the back 9 and finish Even or better.

[update] Only handful of players are yet to finish. SSP will remain T3 after the 1st round. Jyoti slipped further with a bogey in back 9 to to to+3 for the round and T102 (w/ one hole yet to play)

SSP could not bring back the first round form into second and as he finished the round two over. But thanks to wonderful 4 under first round, he is still 2 under for the tournament and still in top 15.
The best round for Indians was from Shiv Kapur as he had 5 birdies and 2 bogeys. However, those 2 bogeys were two too many as he missed the cut by 2. :(

Jyoti needed a pae round but he repeated the round 1 performance by going 3 over once again.

T12 SSP -2 67 73
T91 Shiv Kapur +5 79 68
T100 Jyoti Randhawa +6 74 74

For completeness, I'm updating his final position. After a great start on day 1, SSP slowly slipped and finally finished T34. If you replace the horrible 3rd round wit a par score, he could finish in top 10.

T34 Chowrasia SSP 3 67-73-76-71 287 € 31,950

Jyoti has not done anything special for a long time. We are seeing the resurgence of Arjun but at the same time Jyoti is falling behind.

Madrid Masters

Postby ajay » Fri May 28, 2010 5:29 am

The trio of SSP, Shiv and Jyoti are once again back this week to compete in Madrid Masters. Last week only ssp played 4 rounds. This week, Shiv Kapur played a good first round of 3 under to finish T27. I hope he can repeat this tomorrow too and bring back his form of the beginning of the year. SSP made a bad start on his first hole itself with a double bogey. However, in the end he did well to recover from it and finish 1 under. Jyoti once again finds himself near the bottom of the leaderboard.

T27 - - KAPUR, Shiv* -3 18 -3 69
T62 - -
CHOWRASIA, S S P -1 18 -1 71
T150 - - RANDHAWA, Jyoti* +8 18 +8 80

Gaganjeet Bhullar is the lone Indian, playing at this week's Estoril Open in Portugal.
He managed to get a sponsor invite.
Managed a steady round of Even par to be on the cut line.
Needs to go under PAR today to make the cut....
