Even Muniyappa has qualified for WGC-HSBC event and he has the same visa problem.
Chinnaswamy Muniyappa, Asian Tour and India's latest star, winner of the Hero Honda Indian Open, got in here as one of the winners. And late last night, he learnt about making the main draw for next week's $5 million HSBC Champions event in Shanghai.

"But I need to get my visa done," said a tense Muniyappa, before rushing for his first practice session in two days. "I might need to apply for the visa from India on Monday."

A real pity that Jeev somehow ended up last in his group (by a whisker) after that superb thrashing of Lee Westwood that grabbed the global headlines on Day 1.

Marvellous work by Daniel Chopra, after a long dry spell. It's nice to see that the Indian players have made the Singapore Open their own over the years!! Here's a write-up on Daniel's day at Sentosa:

Play was suspended at Sentosa halfway through Day 3 because of a lightning storm. Daniel had a very poor outing, 3 over par over just 6 holes, and has slid all the way down to T13. He will be happy with the break in play...

Disappointing results for the Indian contingent at the Singapore Open. Gaganjeet Bhullar was again the stand-out performer among the Indians, finishing T14 (alongwith the golfing greats Phil Mickelson and Ernie Els!), while Daniel Chopra finished one stroke back at T21 (a disappointing end after such a spectacular second round, that had him leading the tournament at the halfway mark). Former champion Jyoti Randhawa finished 43rd.

A last hole uncharacteristic bogey by Bhullar resulted in him dropping out from the top 10. Still T14 in a strong tournaments like this is a great finish by Bhullar and it is right up there with his best in his young career. But I'm sure he will surpass this performance many times in future.

A disappointing finish from Gaganjeet. He was T8(-6) with with 3 holes to go and that time he was just 3 behind the leaders.. But 2 bogeys :damn: took him outside top 10. but overall a good tournament for Bhullar.

And England's Ross Fisher beat American Anthony Kim four and three to claim the Volvo World Match Play Championship at the Finca Cortesin Golf Club.

SSP and Jeev already have a card based on a tour victory. Shiv is €17,000 clear of last man to qualify for 2010. Bur he needs to build some margin to be safe. Jyoti badly needs a good performance to get into top 115

Ajay,

I think Shiv is safe as 5-6 players drop out of the ranking process, not having played the minimum quota of events on the Tour. So he should be about 105 now with 3 events to go. If he makes cut in any of these events, it will guarantee his card. Jyoti is the one on the bubble and surely needs a good showing in the next couple of events to make sure.
Good luck for morrow.

Positions for Race to Dubai after Singapore Open
Jyoti made the cut and earned some valuable money to inch forward. He is now the last person in top115)

36 Jeev Milkha SINGH IND 18 €712,917
113 Shiv KAPUR IND 28 €261,452
115 Jyoti RANDHAWA IND 23 €258,294 (Last position for direct 2010 Card )
--------------------------------------------------------
201 S S P CHOWRASIA IND 20 €60,685

As Prem said, if 5-6 players drop out from the list, Jyoti will also be safe. Jyoti is playing this week in no cut and rich HSBC tournament. So Jyoti will get a chance to improve his earning and his position in Race to Dubai list.

Jyoti Randhawa was the real beneficiary among Indian for the "Race to Dubai" Earning. He has made a significant jump to 104 spot. Shiv Kapur, who did not qualify for the last event, slipped to 114th position. Shiv is at the the border line - just around €1.5K ahead of last person. As Prem mentioned earlier, some of the players in the list will drop out and therefore Shiv Kapur should be safe. But hopefully, after Hongkong event, Shiv will further improve his position.

Race to Dubai after HSBC event

36 Jeev Milkha SINGH IND 18 €747,238
104 Jyoti RANDHAWA IND 23 €306,749
114 Shiv KAPUR IND 28 €261,452
115 Last direct 2010 Card €259,946
--------------------------------------------------------
199 S S P CHOWRASIA IND 20 €60,685

Shiv seems safe but to be sure he should make the CUT.
Jyoti has no such issues and should try to get into top 60 to play next week at Dubai ;)

Nice display by SSP to lead the Indians. Surprising drop in form by Jeev. But for last hole bogey, SSP had a flawless round and could have finished T3. Overall a good display by Indians with 6 of 10 finished in red and with in the projected cut. The leader of the first round Udorn DUANGDECHA is at -7.

The first round scores:

7 S.S.P. CHOWRASIA 65 -5 (65)*
16 Jyoti RANDHAWA 66 -4 (66)
16 Gaganjeet BHULLAR 66 -4 (66)
29 Rahil GANGJEE 67 -3 (67)
40 Shiv KAPUR 68 -2 (68)*
65 Gaurav GHEI 69 -1 (69)*
***** Cut *****
94 Anirban LAHIRI 71 1 (71)*
94 Jeev Milkha SINGH 71 1 (71)*
118 C. MUNIYAPPA 73 3 (73)
136 Digvijay SINGH 76 6 (76)

Looks like Gaganjeet is in danger of missing the cut after a 74 in the second round. That leaves him Even Par for the tournamnet and he is currently T78. :-(

SSP has completed his second round with a score of -1 and he is currently T4(-6) for the tournament :-) ...Jyoti also had a round of 69 which leaves him -5 for the tournament and at T10...Another 68 for Shiv and he is T29...Rahil Gangjee falls back to T38 with an even par score for R2(-3 for tournament)...Gaurav Ghei is certain to miss the cut with a round of +4 for the day

After 5 holes, Jeev is even for the day and still +1 for the tournament..He needs a big round today...Come on Jeev :goodluck: ..
Digvijay singh and Muniyappa are -1 for the day and are playing their 4th and 5th holes respectively..Anirbhan Lahiri(at +1) is yet to start his R2..
