Good win for Jeev but Jeev is not 100% fit.

First round got over and second round has started a little while ago. Muniyappa and Chowrasia are in big trouble and need to play very well in 2nd round to play in the weekend. Shiv Kapur and Digvijay Singh also need a good round to ensure weekend presence. Nice comeback by Bhullar. The scores at the end of 1st round are:

T10 RANDHAWA, Jyoti * -2 18 69
T21 CHOPRA, Daniel -1 18 70
T33 BHULLAR, Gaganjeet Par 18 71
T33 GHEI, Gaurav Par 18 71
T49 SINGH, Digvijay 1 18 72
T49 KAPUR, Shiv 1 18 72
-----Projected Cut(+1) ----
T129 MUNIYAPPA, C 5 18 76
T129 CHOWRASIA, S S P 5 18 76

Terrific stuff by Jeev scoring this huge victory over Lee Westwood ... Lets hope he finishes the job today.

Jyoti also had required good start in Singapore Open ... Now he need to maintain this momentum to finish inside top-10 or at least inside top 15 to secure his EPGA card.

At BARCLAYS SINGAPORE OPEN - ROUND 2
T1 Andrew DODT 69 -3 -5 15*
T1 LIANG Wen-chong 69 -3 -5 13*
T1 Daniel CHOPRA 70 -4 -5 11*
T1 Ian POULTER 66 -5
T13 Jyoti RANDHAWA 69 -2
T24 Gaganjeet BHULLAR 71 -1 -1 14
T49 Digvijay SINGH 72 1

*****projected cut(at +1)*****

T72 Shiv KAPUR 72 1 2 15*
T72 Gaurav GHEI 71 2 2 9*
T122 S.S.P. CHOWRASIA 76 5
T132 C. MUNIYAPPA 76 1 6 11*

Right now Gaganjeet has a birdie chance and he must make it and he can really move on in the leaderboard. As almost half of the field is yet to go for the R2 in this rain hit event it's difficult to predict the cut.

update:
3 straight birdies for Ganganjeet and he is -4 now :D
T1 LIANG Wen-chong 69 -4 -6 15*
T2 Daniel CHOPRA 70 -4 -5 13*
T5 Gaganjeet BHULLAR 71 -4 -4 17*

Just woke up with this bad news. Jeev lost by 3 :-( Two back to back birdies by Villegas and then a bogey by Jeev gave the victory to Villegas. In the other group match, Lee Westwood beat Fisher. All the four players have 2 points each. Jeev still leads the group and has some advantage thanks to his big victory margin yesterday. But now he has to win the 3rd match against Fisher to qualify . The 3rd match will be starting later today. :goodluck:

Player Country Pld Holes +/- Pts
1 SINGH Jeev Milkha IND 2 3 2
2 VILLEGAS Camilo COL 2 1 2
3 FISHER Ross ENG 2 0 2
4 WESTWOOD Lee ENG 2 -4 2

I've heard that Gaganjeet have not got the visa for the next big event in Shenghai. He has qualified for the $ 7 million event but he has to return back home to solve this visa issue but time is running out for Bhullar. :-(

Thanks Saniapower for Singapore Open update. Right now Dan is on top with Chan and Poulter, and Bhullar is tied 7th. Both have finished their rounds. Poulter has just started and he has a chance to go up. There will be few more players who may go ahead of Dan. Jyoti has also just played 3 holes with a birdie on 2nd hole. The second round will be complete only tomorrow.

This is a shame that he will be running out for visa after the Singapore Open :(. Its a huge opportunity, just like the British Open. I hope he'll get his visa in time and he'll be back for the WGC event.

Fisher made two back to back eagles to take 2up lead against Jeev :( Unfortunately, Jeev's birdie on hole 4 was of no good as he still lost the hole  . Jeev need to be patient and make a comeback.

Updae: Jeev's another birdie on 5th also did not fetch him a hole as Fisher matched him :( Jeev is not playing bad, Fisher is just playin better and on a roll.

Jeev is out :damn: He made his first bogey to go 4 down on 10th. With eight holes remaining, it is if not impossible, quite a difficult task to win 5 holes, especially when the opponent is playing superbly.

Update: Jeev finally wins his first hole ;) of the match with his 3rd birdie of the day on 11th. So he is 3 down with 7 holes to go.

Update: Jeev wins another hole with a birdie. Jeev is now down by 2. So far no free gift for Jeev as Fisher did not make any bogey. Jeev now needs to win 3 of remaining 4 holes to win the group! Other possibility could be that both matches of his group are tied and then Jeev can be a winner.

Only Fourth group winner is uncertain right now. It is mainly between Fisher and Villegas with Fisher having an advantage right now. Fisher will have same points as the winner of Lee and Villegas, who are tied right now. If Lee wins his match, Fisher is clear group winner. Villegas need to win by one more hole than Fisher to win the group.

Jeev made a birdie and still could not win the 16th hole. Jeev is trying his best and the other group is also coming to his help ;) as they are tied after 17 holes. The only possibility for Jeev is that other group remains tied and Jeev wins the remaining two holes in his match. Fisher is holding on superbly so far, but if he buckles in last two holes, any thing can happen. All the three, Fisher, Villegas and Jeev are still in chance with 3 holes to play in these two matches :-~

Update: The 17th hole is tied and Jeev is out :damn: . It was a close affair. If Jeev could switch his morning and afternoon round, he would have been in Semis.

Villegas and Lee finished tied. Fisher is the winner of the group. The matching birdie by Fisher on 16th was huge for Fisher as he did not let his lead slip. Earlier eagle, eagle, birdie run gave him the initial lead that carried him all the way. Jeev came close with a conventional round of -4 (can become -5 on 18th) - his best round of the tournament, but was unlucky to lose to an opponent on fire who played a flawless conventional round of -7 in 17.

To add insult to the injury, Jeev will finish last in his group as the tie gave the other two players 3 points each and Jeev will have only 2 points. :damn: :damn:

The last hole was also won by Jeev. He loses the match and the semi-final spot by just one hole. So disappointing!

well, Jeev would have received that money even if he had lost all 3 games. To have such a great performance on the first day, and then to lose both matches on the second day is hard. To top it, the other match in the group turned out to be a tie! so, he can't even finish a decent 3rd in the group.

he lost the top spot in his group by not winning 1 extra hole. so close.....
