Jeev has received a special invitation for the 2008 Masters ... Jeev showed surprise after getting the invitation despite slipping to the 81st spot in world rankings.

Jeev - "I could not have asked for a better start to the year. I was planning to work my way back into the world's top-50 to qualify again."

"I want to thank the Masters committee for extending invitations to the Asian competitors. I believe it is a great recognition for us."

With Jeev, two other Asian Tour stars, China's Liang Wen-chong, UBS Asian Tour Order of Merit winner for 2007, and Prayad Marksaeng of Thailand, have received this year's Masters invitation.

Awesome news for Jeev. Hope it inspires him to do better this year on the PGA tour.

As for Daniel, well what can I say. Splendid start to the year by winning the Benz championship. He is going to fulfill his dream of playing in the Masters...

Go Jeev and Dan!!

It is wonderful that both Jeev and Daniel would be playing at the Masters this year.  Jeev will be more familiar with the course this time and should be able to improve on his performance.

Daniel is ranked #63 in the world and his ranking in the top 64 has qualified him for the World Cup Accenture Match Play Championship.  Brett Wetterich (# 45) has withdrawn due to a shoulder injury and has been replaced by J.B. Holmes (#65).  With two players ranked below Dan, he should get the #3 seed instead of #2 seed, Phil Mickelson, if Brett Wetterich had played in this tournament.  The draw will be made on Sunday.

Vijay Singh won his first round against Peter Hanson on the 19th hole. That was close!

Dan is on the field playing against Steve Stricker. In 11 holes so far thrice he went dow but thrice he evened it up. Will he now go up for the first time?! Go Dan!

Steve Stricker beat Daniel Chopra -- went to extra holes and Stricker won the 20th hole -- close but not cigar :-(

Wow .. Tiger produced his best ever comeback to win his first round matchup against J.B. Holmes ... He was 3 down with five holes to play ... :notworthy:

Woods rallies to beat Holmes in Match Play

Vijay beats Niklas Fasth 1 up.  Not playing his best but he's still in it while several of the top players have bitten the dust.  Next up is Aussie Rodney Pampling.

Vijay won after 25 holes - must have had the darkness as his ally!  Next is Justine Leonard. He hooked a ball in to the cactus patch  in the later part of the back nine and was down 2 holes with 2 to go. Probably Sampling felt the pressure of the sure thing.  Off course in Golf there is no such thing!  Vijay seems to have changed his swing and is trying to hit fades.  He missed at least one putt no more than 6 feet to win the match.  His putting is a trial for his fans, but his ball stricking is so non chalant and easy.  A treat to follow around the course.

VJ was 3 down with 7 holes to go.. He was able to level the score going into 18th hole.. but ran out of late round magic, as Justin Leonard birdied the 18th hole.

This is VJ's best performance to date..

Tiger wins once again !  :notworthy:
It is just incredible.
Vijay must be already in India for Johnnie Walker. He did well to reach 3rd round in this tournament.
