Good performance by Indian boxing team at the Asian Boxing Championships at Tashkent. We won 2 silver ( Shiva Thapa and Sumit Sangwan) and 2 bronze medals ( Amit Pangal and Vikas Krishnan). 3 other Indian boxers qualified for world boxing championships after they won the box off after losing the quarter finals.

Overall, following 7 boxers qualified for world boxing championships at London in August.

Amit Pangal(49kg)
Kavinder Bisht(52kg)
Shiva Thapa (60kg)
Manoj Kumar(69kg)
Vikas Krishanan(75kg)
Sumit Sangwan(91kg)
Satish Kumar(+91kg)

This is 1 more than the last world championships. It does seem that Indian boxing is slowly getting back on track after the association mess was resolved.

Sameer, it is Vikas Krishan (Yadav). Weird thing was that he did not turn up for the weigh-in for the semis and thus his South Korean opponent got a walkover. BFI is asking him to show cause for why he did that. I suppose he turned up for the bronze medal match and salvaged a medal.
