End of road for her.

At $10K ITF Women, Hong Kong

[SF] Karman Kaur THANDI (IND,568) l. (Q) Nudnida LUANGNAM (THA,683) 36 26

I did not expect such an abject loss. Karman is still searching for her first title.

She will now playing qualies for $25K from tomorrow.

[SF] Karman Kaur Thandi (IND, 568) l. Nudnida Luangnam (THA, 683) 36 26

The 29 year old proved too crafty for the 18 year old Indian.

Karman is nonetheless making good progress. Qualifying into the $25K event next week would be wonderful.

Probably she din't put in much effort and 6-3,6-2 scoreline looks deceptive considering the form she was in and probably the big 25K tourney next week was playing in her mind
In fact in the second set she broke her opponent and was leading 2-0 and all of sudden lost 6 games in a row.
But at the end of the day it is imperative that she gets into the 25k tournament and good that now she gets a shot at it.

As expected Karman enters qualies for the 25K futures starting next week and has drawn tough  Japanese opponents  in her half

Needs two wins to qualify and in R1 has drawn 14th seed  world 518 but similarly ranked Kijima Mizuno and should she prevail a stern test in 2nd seed and world 360 Shimuzu Aiyano awaits in the final round
:goodluck:

Karman records a nice straight sets win 6-2 7-6 and as expected faces the 2nd seed for a place in the MD
Hoping she pulls this through

Great win for Karman. She was down 0-3 in the first set. And down 0-2 in the second set.

Couple of really good wins over tough Japanese players to qualify for Karman.

3 of the 8 qualifying spots are against seeds. Hope Karman avoids them.

Fantastic stuff from Karman to qualify into the $25K tournament in Hong Kong.
Her R1 opponent will be tougher than the Q2 opponent (by definition), but Karman's momentum and form should enable her to win. Go KKT!

Karman was 1-5 down in the first set. She won 3 straight games to get to 4-5 but after a long service game, the Chinese held to take the first set 6-4.

Karman lost in 3 sets. :-(

At $25K ITF Women's Tennis Tournament 2017, Hong Kong, China

[R1] (Q) Karman Kaur Thandi (IND,568) l. Fang Ying Xun (CHN,335) 46 76(3) 36

Karman had lost to the same opponent 57 16 in September. So, she is showing improvement in her game but it is still a gradual progress and not quantum leaps.

Beating #360 is a quantum leap of sorts; now she has put up a very strong fight against 335, but gone down to a close defeat. Karman's pro career continues to make steady progress.
