This is a nice article on Karman by Kamesh-

French Open: Karman ready to strike

Nice to see that both our top juniors, Sumit and Karman are being backed by Mahesh and that ensures that they are getting the right advice and top class coaching and competition in Europe which will sharpen their game.

Karman played a German challenger qualifying over the weekend but lost in Q1.

At $50K ITF Women, Essen, Germany (Clay)

[Q1] Karman Kaur THANDI (IND,647) l. (1) Cristiana FERRANDO (ITA,329) 16 26

At Nike Junior International Roehampton-Grade 1 (Grass)

[R1] Karman Kaur THANDI (IND,80,WTA 643) l. Mariam BOLKVADZE (GEO,NR,WTA 492) 46 46

Karman lost in first round against top 500 Georgian player who has already won an ITF title and also has quite a few wins at challenger level.

Not the ideal preparation for her for junior Wimbledon.

Nice article on Karman in sports star by Kamesh -

Karman Kaur gears up for pro circuit

Nice to see Karman also planning a long training stint in Europe like RamK and Sumit. I think in modern day tennis, these training stints in europe and playing lots of matches against quality opposition on red clay is the right way to go for talented juniors.

Any update about Karman? I think after Wimbledon she hasn't played anywhere.

She had entered in $25K tournaments in Japan but pulled out from there.

Right now she is still in the qualifying entry list of US open juniors which starts in 1 week's time. So, I guess she may have made a late decision to play there and pull out of Japan ITF tournaments.

When I had asked her, she said she's pulling out of the first week in Japan, and said that she planned on playing the second week. Not sure what happened after that!

Karman pulled out of US open juniors qualies too. So, it seems she is still injured.

Ok, thanks Vatsal. Training, Training.

She should also play a few tournaments. Has played only 4 womens tournament this year. Too few considering she should be transitioning to womens pro tour now at 18.
