And also getting those in WTA qualifying tournaments gets her some good points and money value for those wins. Next one is a tough match though.

At WTA Hong Kong Open International (Hard)

Her game is not top 250. Thats clear. Height and serve being the problem.

She has reached top 250 before and will be able to reach there again. Top 200 is something she has struggled to break into.

Well I didn't have a number in mind. Just said her game isn't improving. We need to wait for sometime

She just beat #216, but lost (badly) to #120. How does that lead to the "clear" conclusion that her game isn't top-250? If anything, she quite consistently beats players in the 200-250 range, but has always had trouble with much higher-ranked players.

I am not down on Ankita. She took her time getting to the 250-300 level and she is going to take some more time to go up further. She is trying out WTA qualifiers where she goes up against players ranked a lot higher than her. Are we getting carried away and not supporting her enough (as much as we do for Pranjala or Karman)? After all, she is the current India no 1.

And has been India no. 1 for more than 3 years with no one else not even in top 500 till Prerna made it this year. So, she deserves more support.

But, Omkara has a point. She broke into top 300 in 2013 and has been hovering around 200-300 level since than. So, there is some stagnation. Of late ( in fed cup & in last 2 tournaments) she is getting some really good wins. So, upward jump may be on the way hopefully.

As I clarified to Sameer before, I didn't have a number. My point is she has stagnated at a level. Whether top 250 or top 200 we can debate that...

She is our No 1 and she needs our support. She has mine.

Ankita is in the entry list of the big $100K CH in Egypt. Sharm-El-Sheikh keeps impressing the ITF tour with year-long events and also mixing with bigger challengers.

Ankita scraped through the main draw entry list. I hope she gets an easy draw. :goodluck:

Glad that she avoided a seed early in the tournament. Best match one could ever ask for, albeit the qualifier played 3 brilliant matches to book a MD berth.

If Ankita wins, she will probably face top seed Nao Hibino, whom I think she has faced in Fed cup and defeated this year. But first things first, let's hope for a straight sets win :D :goodluck:

Ankita just lost the first set. At 4-5, she had opportunities with her opponent at 0-30, then 30-40 but Ankita couldn't convert the BP. 4-6
