Sumit withdrew from this week's futures. That is bad news. Perhaps his injury is not still fully healed. :-(

He is still in next week's futures. Let us see if he plays.

Sumit pulled out of this week's futures too. He is next in the entry list of $25K futures in Sweden in couple of weeks time. Hope he is fully back by then.

And he started with a win.

At $75K(+H) Ostrava Challenger, Czech Republic (Clay)

[Q1] Sumit Nagal (IND,380) d. (WC) PatriK Rikl (CZE,NR) 64 75

18 year old Rikl was ranked 28 in juniors last year and has hardly played in pros. So, his being unranked in pros is a bit misleading. That is a decent win by Sumit first one after comeback.

[Q2] Sumit Nagal (IND,380) vs. (8) Dragos Dima (ROU,320)

If Sumit was playing at the level he was last year before he got injured, I would pick him to win this easily. But, he is just getting back. So, it will be a difficult match.

At $75K(+H) Ostrava Challenger, Czech Republic (Clay)

[Q2] Sumit Nagal (IND,380) vs. (8) Dragos Dima (ROU,320) 3-6 6-1 3-5* in trouble.

All over, Lost the 3rd set 3-6.
A bit rusty, I think.

Good to see Sumit play two matches. Hope this implies that he has recovered fully from his injury.

Yes, even though it was a loss today the scoreline against 320th ranked player is encouraging .

Sumit has received a wild card for the doubles with local player David Poljak.

The fact that he has signed on for doubles hopefully indicates that he is fully fit!

He lost in first round in doubles.

At $75K+H Ostrava Challenger, Czech Republic (Clay)

[R1] (WC) Sumit Nagal (IND)/ David Poljak (CZE) l. Roberto Carballes Baena (ESP)/ Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo (ESP) 26 64 7-10

Still, good that he got some match practice here. He will be in $25K futures in Sweden next week.

At $25K Sweden F1 Futures,

[R1] (5) Sumit Nagal (IND,406) l. (Q) Lukas Renard (SWE,1540) 67(2) 36

Now this is turning out to be a seriously bad comeback for Sumit. He has now lost 3 of the 4 matches he has played since comeback and 2 of the losses have been against much lower ranked players.

Really bad loss. Sumit's return was probably premature. He doesn't appear to be fully fit yet.

Yes, he doesn't appear to be fully fit but it may not be premature. That would depend on whether he is still hurting and is potentially making his injury worse by playing. Alternatively, if he is on his way to full fitness (but isn't there yet) then he may need to take play and take a few losses before he regains his best form.

This week Sumit having tough first round match .

At $25K Sweden F2 Futures,Bastad

[R1] (7) Sumit NAGAL (IND,405) vs. Hugo DELLIEN (BOL,596)

Although Sumit is a seed, Delllen was ranked in top 250 a couple of years back and reached the final last week here. So, he will be the favourite considering Sumit's current form.

Straight sets loss for Sumit.

At $25K Sweden F2 Futures,Bastad

[R1] (7) Sumit NAGAL (IND,405) l. Hugo DELLIEN (BOL,596) 46 26

It does seem a long road back for Sumit. He does not seem anywhere close to his last year's form.
