Seems like Mahesh is not calling quits anytime soon. He is planning to participate in 2015 Wimbledon however he categorically mentioned that he wont be playing this year anymore.

So he hasn't entirely retired (despite Sania's lament that he didn't get a proper farewell from AITA and others when he retired)! But it will be tough for him to just turn up to play ad hoc at Wimbledon next year without a wildcard...(unless he can produce an injury medical certificate and use an injury protected ranking... :p ).

If Cara Black/Martina Hingis/Kimiko date can come back and play at the highest level, then why not Mahesh? I think we should submit a joint petition from this forum to Mahesh for his come back...Jokes apart I want his full time commitment to tour from 2015 onward...

Just when it seemed Hesh's IPTL had suffered a big setback -- with Nadal's pull-out -- it received a huge shot in the arm, with the Greatest Player of all time, Roger Federer, apparently joining the India-based team in the IPTL, replacing Rafa!!

Interesting decision by Dubai to have qualifiers for doubles. I hope this becomes a norm, including at the non-grass Slams!

Actually, ATP started having doubles qualifying at ATP 500 level events since last year which is we come step. But, I agree that it extends to all ATP and grand slam tournaments to give fringe players like Purav a chance to make a big move up the rankings.

Mahesh's thoughts on our Olympic medal chances ... As usual very optimistic ... :D

Can India win an Olympic medal in tennis?
"Men's doubles and mixed-doubles -- in both we have a good chance (of winning medals). Rohan (Bopanna) and Leander (Paes) are both world-class players (who will be the men's doubles partners), so why not," said Bhupathi in Mumbai on Tuesday.

"Inspirational, if I have to say one word (about Saina's performance). She has really worked hard over the last three years, not only this year, putting herself in positions to win finals of Grand Slams. All the hard work needed someone to complement her perfectly and Martina and she complement each other perfectly. I think they are going to win many Grand Slams over the next two years."

"Yuki is now 89 in the world, so we have someone who is going to play in the main draw of Grand Slam in men's singles. Sumit and Karman are both the future of tennis in men and women for us. Things are going (well)."
