Karman lost in second round. :-( Her performances remain below par since last 2-3 months.

Actually, given that the other person was ranked higher, this loss cannot be classified as below par. Wrt last 2-3 months, you are right.

I think Karman is a bit underanked as she has not played full year on pro tour so far. She was still playing juniors last year. He results last last year too were consistent with being a top 500 player. So, her one sided loss to a player ranked 512 is disappointing indeed. She was beating players ranked much higher in November/December.

For next week's $25K challenger, Nidhi,Kyra and Ramya played in qualifying but could not qualify.

So, in main draw

At $25K ITF Women, Hua Hin, Thailand

[R1] Karman Kaur THANDI (IND,538) vs. (WC) Mananchaya SAWANGKAEW (THA,NR)

[R1] (4) Ankita RAINA (IND,313) vs. (Q) Yukun ZHANG (CHN,710)

This is going from bad to worse her base in France is not working it is better to move out somewhere like waske schuttler or to Canada where she had major success than to regret it later

At $25K ITF Women, Hua Hin, Thailand

[R2] Karman Kaur THANDI (IND, 538) vs Chihiro MURAMATSU (JPN, 583)
[R2] (4) Ankita RAINA (IND, 313) vs Giuliana OLMOS (MEX,514)

In a battle of 18 year olds, Karman plays Muramatsu (who upset seventh seed Akgul AMANMURADOVA in the first round). Given Karman's patchy play in recent times, it is going to be a toss-up as to who will win. Hopefully, Ankita will win easily. The winners of the above matches play each other in the QF. So let us hope for a Karman vs Ankita match.

Karman lost to Muramatsu in straight sets last week. So, I would rate Japanese as favourite for tomorrow's match unless Karman turns around her form a lot.

[R2] Karman Kaur THANDI (IND, 538) d Chihiro MURAMATSU (JPN, 583) 6-3 3-6 7-5 (3h 28')
[R2] (4) Ankita RAINA (IND, 313) l Giuliana OLMOS (MEX,514) 6-3 5-7 2-6 (2h 33')

Unexpected loss for Ankita but Karman beats a player she lost to last week.

Damn, Ankita seems to have lost confidence in her abilities. She loses a match which she should have won easily and after being a match point up. I think she needs a good run somewhere to get that confidence back.

Nice to Karman beating a player whom she had lost to in the previous week. This is a good win for after a while and good that it comes in a 25K event which gives more points. Hope she can go further in this tournament.
