That is an awesome run by Mahak. Let's see if she can go one more tomorrow.

Yes, impressive for a 15 year old to be reaching ITF womens futures final.

Zeel takes the first set 6-3 against the other 15 year old Lulu.

It has happened. Good to see our younger girls doing well. May the best player win the final. Go Mahak. Go Zeel.

Just awesome stuff!!
Mahak beating the experienced Omani player Fatma al-Nabhani is a spectacular result for a 15-year old.
And Zeel continuing to show her prowess with a straight sets win over the new Swiss phenom is wonderful news too.

Exciting stuff indeed. For either of them, it will be their first ITF title . Zeel has made an ITF final last year in Egypt but for Mahak this is just her 4th or 5th pro tournament and she is into the final beating players who have had much more experience. Mahak and Zeel played in ITF junior grade 2 final in Delhi in January where Mahak prevailed overturning her 2 previous losses against Zeel.

Interestingly, both Zeel and Mahak are slated to travel to Thailand and then Malaysia for back to back grade 1 events from next week. So, it looks after playing the final tomorrow they will have to rush to Thailand over the weekend.

Zeel wins her maiden title by defeating Mahak 6-3 7-5. Future looks good for us with these couple of youngsters! Zeel will be ranked inside 800 in a couple of weeks. Curious to know her future tournaments in the pro circuit.
I'm sure Mahak has nothing to lose and has a bright future waiting once she turns pro :goodluck:

Just top 800? She's already top 850.

By my calculation, Zeel will be just about in top 700 once these points are updated and she has earned her points only from 5 tournaments. So, she can gain a lot once she plays more tournaments.

Excellent tournament for Mahak too and expecting a lot from her in the junior circuit this year.

That's a mistake. I thought the winner gets 10 points but for $15K tournaments, it's 18. She is at 854 now with 14 points , 32 points from 5 tournaments will take her inside 650s.

No, Dinesh it is 12 points for the winner. 18 is for mens circuit. So, she will be on 26 points mostly taking her just inside 700.
