There are most posts in RamK's thread before the discussion was moved to this thread. :-)

Rank up 4-2 with a break playing well held to 5-2
He is looking motivated and ready to play, mixing up strokes very well

Serving for set at 5-3 holds for 6-3. Playing well and pumped!

Set 2

Rubles takes off on a break? Don't understand maybe we injury or toilet break

Rublevup 2-1 on serve ramk serving running into trouble too much of running around backhand when he doesn't need to and leaves a huge hole on the forehand side
Hold for 2-2 with a good forehand fro volley at love

He is going further back and starting to slice again somebody needs to coach this guy

Too far back from the baseline. All kinds of time for rublev to set up. Madness
Ramk holds to 3-3 with some good serving.
Rublev 15-0, 30-0, 40-0. Game new balls 3-4
Ramk 0-15, 15-15, 15-30, 15-40, 30-40, two great serves to deuce ad out, some great scrambling by rublev to break at 3-5. Again ramk could have gone to the net at least once paid the price
Rublev up 40-15, 40-30, doubles to deuce, rublev muttering to himself, ad in, rublev holds to 6-3
One set all

Set 3
Ramk needs to step up his game one level
Ramk 15-0, 15-15, 15-30, 15-40 again running around Backhand unnecessary, 30-40, broken not good0-1
rublev 15-0, 30-0, 40-0, 2-0.
Ramk 0-15, bad drop volley 0-30, 0-40, errors creeping in, 15-40, 30-40, deuce got away with poor drop volley, ad out poor approach , deuce, ace, great serve poor return ramk not at Net deuce again ad in net approach dumped deuce, ad in, Holds with some good scrambling 1-2
Rublev 15-0, 30-0, 40-0, 40-15, 40-30, rublev holds to 3-1
Ramk 15-0 ace, 30-0, 30-15, 40-15, ace to hold 2-3 on second serve! 2-3
Rublev 15-0, 30-0, 40-0, 40-15, 40-30, rublev holds to 4-2
Ramk 0-15, 0-30, 0-40, 2-5 loses tamely
Rublev holds to win at 6-2

Wow, this is the best series of wins by RamK in quite a while!! Normally, these are players you would be playing the main draw of most challengers rather than in the qualies! Good luck on closing out the #134 Rublev...

RamK lost serve first up in the decider and is in danger or going double break down at Ad-out... *0-2
finally holds for 1-2*, still a break down...

Well basically RamK was playing a clay court match on a hard court - 4 feet behind the baseline - Rublev had all kinds of time to set up and hammer away on both flanks. Nice hitting session for Rublev to get him ready for the next round.

RamK approaches every serve the same way - a hard flat followed by a good well-spun second serve. Opponents know exactly what to expect - he has a great first serve but does not mix it up like he should. His backhand is not bad - he hit some great backhand shots, but setting up for transitioning from defence to attack needs a lot of work - dont know who he is working with - Bops tells me that he doesnt have a coach currently.

BTW talked to Bops briefly - he is clearly hoping to do well in this tournament. We watched DiPu today and chatted briefly - I didnt get to see their entire match as I had to get back to a meeting but what I saw told me a lot - these guys are not at the same level as Bops and/or Lee but nothing prevents them from getting better with a lot of hard work.

Wow great news - glad they were able to pull it out - the first set seemed a bit dicey but nice recovery. :D

I will try and see these guys tomorrow.
