Thiem has been playing very well this clay season.

This has been a most bizarre series of matches on the clay of Roma.

Thiem beats Nadal (who had won the 3 previous tournaments on clay) in straights.

Djokovic beats Thiem 6-1, 6-0 in a ridiculous beatdown.

Zverev beats Djokovic in straights and becomes the first young player to win a Masters in a decade.

Roland Garros looks quite open now, with Zverev, Nadal, Thiem and Djokovic the main quartet with a chance of winning it. Murray has faded almost into oblivion since the start of the year.

In a best of 5, Wawrinka is the only other player outside of Djokovic who can beat Nadal at RG IMO. Too soon for Thiem and Zverev. Of course, it is Nadal and his knees are broken so that can come into play.

Yes, I should definitely have included Wawrinka, the 2015 champion. He doesn't seem to be in great form, but then he does have the ability to perform when it matters, in the Slams. And he has the endurance necessary for 5-setters.
