Re: Yonex Sunrise India open Super Series 2017

That's the difference: I expect Saina to contend credibly at best, but I expect Sindhu to win.

Re: Yonex Sunrise India open Super Series 2017

I've always considered Sindhu bettter than Saina. This leaves no doubt in my mind.

Re: Test series in 2017

Yay. That second six by Rahane was out of this world. You don't see such shots every day. Congrats team India.

Re: Test series in 2017

Atithee, try watching the highlights if you can. It was exhilarating to see Umesh and Bhuvi literally have the Aussie openers (Warner and Renshaw) hopping. Thanks PKB. I will watch the highlights for sure. Too bad it's after midnight here else I'd be watching live. I've always been an advocate for ...

Wow! Even in my wildest dream, I didn't expect this. Let's get the remaining runs without fuss and drama. Well done India.

Re: Test series in 2017

Done and dusted. Disappointing but I'll take it. Wish we put a premium on our last few wickets. It really puts us on backfoot almost every time. But, out 6-8 have saved us the blushes.

Time for bed. Hope to wake up to an advantageous position.

Re: Test series in 2017

It might be better to declare at lunch rather than waste the innings changeover time. Time will become a factor in this match.

Re: Test series in 2017

Yup, I yearn for the days when our 9 through 11 batsmen will make a substantial contribution of runs. Thankfully, our 6-8 have started doing better. Saha was ducking so nicely, why did he have to fend at that one? We've just let Cummins ruffle our feathers for no reason. There was no need to Jadeja ...

Re: Test series in 2017

When will Kumar make runs again? What a contrast to Aussie fast bowlers.

Re: Greatest Indian Women Athlete

The one thing against Saina's greatness is the inability to conquer the Chinese in general. That's where Sindhu has the edge and may end up inching past Sania.

Arjun, you seem to invent arguments that I don't even make. Or, you mix responses to various arguments that are hard to discern. Anyway, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Re: Sania, the fact that she has so few votes here in a rabid fan base is telling. That's all from me folks.

Re: Greatest Indian Women Athlete

Reaching a ranking that high has to go with winning some titles. Sania won a lowly title at home and made only one or two finals at most in her singles career after that. Not sure if any other top 30 player has such barren record. Caroline Wozniacki was #1 for a while. She even won some titles and r...

Re: Greatest Indian Women Athlete

Junior slams are useless. It may only mean that you can make top-70 or so in seniors. They are still better than doubles and MxD. MxD is played only at slams and some other events as a side-show. Neither dubs or MxD is critical toward the "greatness" measure. Tennis is largely an individu...

Re: Greatest Indian Women Athlete

You should answer your own question since you brought in someone who had a junior slam final as her only achievement as someone who should enter the discussion on our women's tennis greats. Btw, Sania does have 6 GS slam titles in doubles.... Huh? You misunderstood the context where I was saying th...
