Re: Yuki Bhambri

Probably wants to ease his way back by playing futures like he did earlier. He has succeeded in this approach in the past - even recent one where he played and won an Indian futures title before having a very good run at China Challengers. So, hard to argue against that. Yeah, he seems to be quite ...

Re: Davis Cup 2017 - India

It's amazing how many enemies LP has made for himself. I for one, would have liked him to get a couple more of doubles ties and that record (as long as it wouldn't mean losses for India)... but nobody in Indian tennis circles seems to want him to get it. Well, for the most part, Lee has only himself...

Re: Davis Cup 2017 - India

Home-cooking is big in Davis Cup! I am sure the humidity just killed the Uzbeks, in addition to the steady play by our guys. It is not the temperature but the sweating that is hard for foreigners. For us, Bangalore is not one of the more humid places (try Kerala or Mangalore!), but for a foreigner, ...

Re: Davis Cup 2017 - India

It seems Faziyev was not allowed a medical break earlier. Not sure why. He takes it now. He seemed totally drained out. It looked like due to heat which is strange as Bangalore is not that hot at all at this time. Bangalore has become much hotter than it used to be. I was there 2 weeks ago, and it ...

Re: Davis Cup 2017 - India

Very tight match. Both guys seem to be wining most of their service points. Only one break point so far in the match, and Prajnesh took it - and that's the difference in the match. Just as I say it, there's the next BP, and Fayziev takes it. 7-5 1-3 now.

Spot on. I have been like this for years now, pretty much.

Re: Football: Indian National Team news ...

Yes, the ranking scheme is. Here is an article which predicted as much after the wins against Cambodia and Myanmar. FIFA Ranking for India The key seems to be that we are scoring goals even though we are being dominated by the other team. That is a refreshing change. Actually I had talked about thi...

Re: Davis Cup 2017 - India

Can't say that it is terrible logic by Hesh. It's rather true that players who have never played 5-setters have a higher chance to be injured. To have to as LP or Bops to pay singles on day 3 would indeed be weird. On the other hand, maybe the increase in probability to lose the doubles match is mor...

Re: Indian Shooting thread

This was fantastic. Like you said, Jitu has now shown multiple times the ability to get more accurate at the end - a great quality. Finally, we have a good one in shooting. And a new name too. Looking forward to Jitu at the next Asiad and Olympics. Will keep an eye on Amanpreet too.

Re: General Cricket Thread ...

I'm just stunned to see that we did something like this. Normally I would be thrilled to see India make that kind of a bold decision, and showing that we are so self-confident in our normal team's abilities to not be blinded by a singular achievement by a player. Based on a quick google search, it s...

Re: General Cricket Thread ...

Wait... I just noticed that the fellow who hit the triple century hasn't played after that test. What happened? I didn't think triple centurions would get easily dropped from the team immediately. Is he injured or something?

Re: Virat Kohli Thread

No threads, please. If somebody gets to be as big as SRT, a thread can be allowed to ask for his retirement at some point prematurely. Otherwise, the forum's tradition of not doing threads for individual players should continue, in my humble opinion. If Observer is asking for Kohli's retirement, I a...
