Re: Taiwan/China/Korea Challengers- April/May 2017

When this happens, the logical conclusion is that he is not tired but in form :-)

Re: Taiwan/China/Korea Challengers- April/May 2017

Or better still, make him run around and keep the ball in play. So, that he will be tired by the second set (preferably) or the third set.

Re: Taiwan/China/Korea Challengers- April/May 2017

You don't want to draw an SE because he/she is in form. However, sometimes, they may be tired after a whole week's play. So, if Prajnesh hangs in there, maybe he can eke out a win. Good luck!

Re: Indian Premier League (IPL)

The match was lost by Gambhir and Pandey. They could not hit at all. On the other hand, *all* of the Lions batsmen kept on hitting. If KKR bats had not been that conservative, a total of 200 would have been possible. Given the flat pitch and I think the ropes were brought in, no swing at all, it see...

Re: Ramesh Krishnan thread

Wikipedia (although I don't know how reliable, but, seems correct) shows Ramanathan Krishnan winning the Canadian Open in 1968. And, the tennis archive lists him as winning the Stuttgart Open in 1968. I think the ATP has incomplete data. His 1968 record shows only the Grand Slams. They do not have t...

And Vishnu and Balaji's rankings are in the similar range. So, they could potentially play qualies or challengers singles and doubles together.

Re: Indian Premier League (IPL)

Shakib is in for KKR. He is one of the better all-rounders available today. And, I think in the IPL apart from Shane Watson's exploits, I can think of no other all-rounder performing better. Good. Grandhomme was of little use. This strengthens the batting and bowling.

Re: Champions Trophy, 2017

Australia chose their team. What is remarkable is that among the batsmen, they have chosen the big hitters. So Aaron Finch, with his relatively poor ODI average is in the side, while Bailey, Shaun Marsh, and Callum Ferguson, with their better averages are not. No Aussie batsman has a SR under 85. Th...

Re: Mahesh Bhupathi thread...

I doubt the contacts in AITA will help him nurture a top-100 player. The most important thing is to scout well and identify correctly real talents/rough diamonds early. Then, you provide them with training for several years. AITA does not have that much money anyway. And, whatever the AITA folks cou...

Re: Indian Premier League (IPL)

And today, it seems he had a good catch and a good stumping. Certainly one to keep an eye on. There are about 10 more games plus the knockouts. Dhoni seems to be terrible wrt SR. I don't see much value in keeping him too long. If not Pant, we need a plan for who it will be. Among the normal suspect ...

Re: Indian Premier League (IPL)

Manish Pandey played very well. It is good that Coulter-Nile is there instead of Boult. I believe Coulter-Nile is a better bowler for Indian wickets. And, is a better bat too. Weird that we continue playing Woakes and Grandhomme instead of playing Shakib. 3 spinners is not that much. We do not need ...

Re: Indian Premier League (IPL)

PKB, a day after his father passed away on Apr 8th, Pant came out and scored a 57 off 36 balls in this IPL. In the second match in this IPL, he scored 31 off 22 balls and was runout as a result of great fielding. Given Delhi has only played 3 games, I think your use of "finally" is a tad h...
