Re: Ankita Raina thread

Yes she's done it , an emphatic 6-1 score line to make it into the finals to record a 6-4 , 6-1 With 48 points assured for a finals showing it would really help her in the rankings ladder and a title with 80 points would zoom her in the rankings One of the best showing by an Indian player , Mens/Lad...

Re: Ankita Raina thread

Anita 4-2 up now , infact had many chances to go up 5-1 up but got broken , just needs to hold her serve to wrap up this set. but if the 5th game where she got broken is any indication than we are in for a long haul and hoping Ankita seals the match eventually. ..... Squandered 3 break points for a ...

Re: Prajnesh Gunneswaran thread

Pragnesh woeful run continues as he bows out in straight sets  A match he should have won considering similar rankings and also having an advantage of being a better clay courter than his opponent. In fact he started well and broke for a 3-1 lead but couldn't capitalise and quickly got broken. The w...

Re: Roland Garros 2017

A very difficult opponent for Ram, but this should be to his advantage as he has nothing to loose and should go for broke and play freely without any inhibitions. Yuki on paper , yes has winnable matches , but than it all depends on the all important fitness level , will he able to last and sustain ...

Re: $15K Singapore F1-F3, May 22-June 11, 2017

Yes International Tennis returns to Singapore after a long time ,after a decade or so if I recollect correctly
Before they use to have an annual challenger , which Ramesh ,Vijay, Anand , Zeeshan use to support regularly
For Ram it is more of a family reunion in Singapore rather than Tennis as :D

Re: Karshi / Samarkand Challengers May 2017

All the 3 Indian players  figure in matches to be played on Monday in Samarkand. Ram and Pragnesh play their MDR1 while Vishnu battles it out with the top seed for a place in MD Vishnu looks capable of causing an upset indicative from his victories with impressive scoreline in both the qualifying ma...

Re: Karshi / Samarkand Challengers May 2017

At Samarkand both our guys have tough opening encounters.
Ram faces 4th seed Spanish Adrian Menendez and Pragnesh runs into 3rd seed Jason Jung.
Vishnu meanwhile wins his QR1 in straight sets 6-1,6-2

Re: Karshi / Samarkand Challengers May 2017

1st round loser in a GS earns way more than Challenger winner! Presume you are referring to 1st round quali loser , because a 1st round loser in GS earns similar or slightly more than the Chennai Open Finalist. Does a 1st round Qualifier loser win anything? I was referring to 1st Round of MD. Yes o...

Re: Karshi / Samarkand Challengers May 2017

Re: Karshi / Samarkand Challengers May 2017

Good analysis on Yuki's play PKB, both of us and rest who watched the matched surely will agree this was a total different approach by Yuki going into this match , As far i can recollect , this is only the second match he has played this year in such a fashion , full array of shots on display with p...

Re: Karshi / Samarkand Challengers May 2017

And its 5-2 , should warp up this set.
Different style of play from Yuki , attacking and finishing the points quickly , quite similar to the one he played against Ram at the Chennai Open

Re: Karshi / Samarkand Challengers May 2017

Yup a break up and leads 4-2
the point he broke Stakhovsky was spectacular , a wide serve to Yuki which would been hard for any player to touch leave alone return , but Yuki full stretch slaps back a return to leaving his opponent standing unmoved as he hardly expected a return.

Roland Garros 2017

At 219 this years FO Cut Off for the singles qualies seems to be very high . Ram at 217 thanks to his Finals showing at Tallahase Challenger just about manages to scrape in , and joining him will be Yuki with his PR of 127. The duo along with the usual Doubles Suspects would make up the Indian Conti...

Re: Karshi / Samarkand Challengers May 2017

Bala,Vishnu , Yuki, & Ram , all of whom who figured in the 3 doubles lost their matches in straight sets , except Yuki who seems to be unlucky in loosing out in the STB. Yuki & Balaji play their R2 matches today , up against the 8th & 6th seed respectively and Yuki should be able to pull...
