Re: Sports and Performance Enhancing Drugs (Doping)

How dumb are these guys? Did they seriously think they can get away with this?

I would be interested too.

Re: Rohan Bopanna thread...

We were at the club in Marrakech yesterday. Vacationing in Morocco. Watched a few matches but missed Rohan's by 30 min or so. We did see Rajeev Ram, Coric, and a couple of others. Morocco is a fascinating country, some really nice and hospitable people. My son got to play for an hour on the red clay...

Pretty drastic I would say!

This is great news for US mens tennis! Too bad for UVA though (Somdev's alma mater)

Re: Greatest Indian Women Athlete

Re: Sania, the fact that she has so few votes here in a rabid fan base is telling. That's all from me folks. That's may be because the question isn't clear. I wouldn't vote for Sania too if we were talking only athleticism. I considered achievements, global reach of the sport, competition, support/...

Re: Fitness: the bane of Indian tennis

I think the groundwork has to be laid very early - basically both good habits and good practices need to be inculcated when they are kids. For workout/exercise/nutrition/sleep habits/recovery etc. By the time they are out on the tour, it is often too late. I understand that you can definitely drama...

Yeah, that's true. He's more of a Federer than a Nadal (you know what I mean).

Omkara, hmm, sorry I don't recall that. He still does look great though.

I've been pretty impressed with how Harsh managed to stay relatively injury free. Knowing what I know of Harsh, he must have done something right.

Re: Greatest Indian Women Athlete

Ok, got it. I think many of you are downplaying Sania's achievements. Yes, I can see why you have an issue with her personality (I don't) but you got to give her more credit than what she is getting here. I may have said this in one of my previous posts but the coaching that she received in her form...

Whoa. What's wrong with top-70? We haven't had many (women especially) who reached that level.

Re: ATP World Tour Masters 1000/ WTA Indian Wells and Miami 2017

I vote for Sania. She got to top 30 in the world with mediocre coaching. If she had the right coaching at a young age (including fitness coaching, a better serve etc.), we would have seen more success. She came close to getting a bronze.

Sindhu is a close second. She had Gopi to guide her.

Uh oh, I am getting predictable. Getting money out of Indian politicians is no joke :) We normally complain if our players can't get sponsors (Yuki etc.). This is a case where we are complaining when one of our players is smart enough to raise what she needs.

I thought Sanaa won a junior slam doubles also.
Edit: Ignore that. Wikipedia shows that she reached the semis. I must have been dreaming.
