Re: General Cricket Thread ...

That sounds possible. The number of Boards which need a financial rescue is an important opportunity. It would be very important to manage and execute this well in order to not lose the public interest and the revenue which comes with it. Maintaining a good image among the fans not only in India but...

Re: General Cricket Thread ...

I dont know enough to be able to have an informed opinion. I remember reading somewhere that the English and Australian boards have valuations approximately half that of the BCCI. So It might be safe to assume that value(All Boards - BCCI) significantly > BCCI In which case it might not be easy to p...

Re: General Cricket Thread ...

Averages have inflated overall quite a bit in the last 5-6 years so I dont like comparing averages across eras. This is still relevant because the averages in test cricket are not affected as much as they are in ODIs

Re: General Cricket Thread ...

Actually AB de Villiers is better than everyone mentioned above except perhaps Sanga. But then again he wasnt always playing as a WK just like Sanga.

Re: General Cricket Thread ...

This De Kock guy is shaping up to be Gilchrist's worthy successor. Maybe even more consistent! And he is a phenomenal athlete. Of course, the best batsman to keep wickets was Andy Flower. I thought for some time Prior or Sangakarra could have risen to Gilchrist levels wrt batting (while playing as ...

Nice Victory!
I hope she goes very deep in this one. Some wins here could give her some very valuable confidence for the season ahead.

Re: Fitness: the bane of Indian tennis

Tennis being an injury prone sport would always see athletes getting hurt. However, I see a major limiting factor in the Indian system: There is perhaps a problem with the systemic selection procedure. Because the tennis in India does not penetrate densely and deeply enough, it doesn't weed out inju...

Re: Virat Kohli Thread

Kabbaddi is not quite in the same league as cricket, however its awesome that we dominate. That leaves England and Australia (and perhaps SA) as the only worthy sporting rivals and we have generally struggled to dominate them. We are very competent. Playing at home has helped but then it helps every...

Re: Virat Kohli Thread

I dont know enough about BSB to be able to comment if we would be able to have a good discussion about him way after his retirement. A thread for the famous Indian spin quartet(Chandra, Prasanna, Venkataraghavan, Bedi) might be more apt.

Re: Virat Kohli Thread

I tried to find a thread on VK but it didnt come up in the first 2 pages of search results so i assumed there wasn't one. I accept my mistake! The greatest ODI batsman of all time deserves a thread of his own. That would be SRT or Viv Richards. The game of cricket evolves substantially in every gene...
