Re: Indian Shooting thread

The guy is consistent; sadly he couldn't take it at the Olympics. I hope he keeps going like this and be mentally prepared for Tokyo

Get Yuki, Ramk/Saketh + Divij-Purav. Paes and Bopanna should stay out of this

Re: Davis Cup 2017 - India

That's right. It's time for Yuki and Ram to step up, doesn't matter if it's NZ or a WG PO, a couple of wins will be a confidence booster for both and get some match practice. They need to start tasting Davis Cup victory with ease at the Asian level. Maybe a good DC track record can give some extra c...

Re: Australian open 2017

Denis Istomin is having one of the best GS moments of his life, especially in the last 5 years as he made it to the 4th round (his best show in Aus Open) after defeating Carreno Busta in 5 sets. Mischa Zverev is facing Murray currently, he too had a 5 setter against Isner. These guys should be a po...

Re: Australian open 2017

Agree with Punarayan and PKB here. A couple of break points converted and we wouldn't be having this sad discussion. Yuki was right there, we would have been celebrating his comeback. He did play well, those first 2 games. Obviously we can't expect him to start beating everyone in straight sets but ...

Re: Australian open 2017

Couldn't break Escobedo as he takes it 6-4 in the third set. Sad that he lost the game after a good display in the first set. He looked more technically sound when it came to the groundstrokes but that elusive break didn't happen. Escobedo's serve was better. He also returned more of Yuki's serves. ...

Re: Australian open 2017

Disappointment as Escobedo takes it to 5-3, Yuki could have taken that game tbh

Re: Science News

Amazing article @Prasen sir. The film "Moneyball" was fascinating as to how numbers cut across the biases we humans have. Germany made use of analytics with heat maps (collabd with SAP I think) in their 2014 WC, sabermetrics became more prominent after Oakland A's run and I'm sure lot of s...

Re: Somdev Dev Varman ...

That's a very nice article Vatsal! As Jay mentions, I think Somdev needs to see this thread (especially the last few pages) to get an idea about the love and respect we have for him; and understand that he's not alone in this fight for changing Indian sport. Maybe we can reach him through twitter..

Re: Somdev Dev Varman ...

Somdev and his work ethic would inspire me to wake up at 2.30 AM just to get a glimpse of his game on live stream. There are many what-ifs when you look at his career but I guess he has a different philosophy. There were questions on who would step up after Leander & Mahesh and this guy did it. ...

She should have dedicated the victory to the Arunachali coach in front of the Chinese. Reply politics with your own. That could have taught them a lesson
